About Horizon Cruise Terminal

Horizon Terminal is the most recently developed of Southampton's four cruise facilities, located in the Eastern Docks of the Port of Southampton — the UK's busiest cruise port. Built to accommodate the continued growth in cruise passenger numbers, Horizon Terminal adds significant berth capacity alongside the neighbouring City Cruise Terminal.

The terminal is purpose-built to handle modern large cruise ships, with efficient passenger processing facilities and clear vehicle drop-off zones. While it is newer than the Western Docks terminals, the Eastern Docks road network can still be complex for those unfamiliar with it. Our drivers use this route regularly and know exactly how to approach the terminal.

Cruise Lines at Horizon Terminal

Horizon Terminal serves a rotating roster of cruise lines. Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC Cruises are among those that have operated from this terminal. Because terminal allocations can change season-to-season and even sailing-to-sailing, the most reliable source is always your cruise e-ticket or confirmation email.

Pickup and Drop-Off Logistics

For embarkation: We pull up at the Horizon Terminal entrance. Porters are available to take your cases from the vehicle. You proceed directly to check-in without dealing with a car park, shuttle bus, or long walk. We time your pickup so you arrive within your allocated check-in window — not hours early.

For disembarkation:Your driver waits at the terminal exit with a name board. After clearing UK Border Force and collecting your luggage from the baggage hall, you walk to the exit and your driver is ready. We monitor the ship's arrival and docking time so we're there when you need us.

Cruise Day Traffic at Eastern Docks

The Eastern Docks can experience significant congestion on busy turnaround Saturdays — particularly when multiple ships are simultaneously embarking and disembarking. The road network around the port is designed for freight and can catch out GPS routing.

Luggage Handling at Horizon Terminal
